Let's learn how you can capture Pals in Palworld in this simple guide!
In short, capturing Pals can be boiled down to four steps: crafting Pal Spheres, finding and damaging a Pal, throwing a Pal Sphere at the pal, and capturing / using the Pal.
Let's walk through each.
Step One: Craft Pal Spheres
Pal Spheres are the "Poke Balls" of the Palworld universe and are what allow us to capture Pals.
To start, create a Primitive Workbench from the crafting menu and open the crafting menu. Then, select "Pal Sphere:"
The Pal Sphere required Paldium Fragments, Wood, and Stone to create. You can find our guide to collecting Paldium Fragments here.
Step Two: Find and Damage a Pal
Once you find a Pal you want to capture, you'll need to do some damage to it first.
Similar to Pokemon, Pals are easier to catch when they're damaged - so to secure the highest change at catching a Pal, first damage it to around 20% HP. For larger creatures and harder catches, this percentage may need to be lower; however, for simple Pals, it works fine.
Step Three: Throw a Pal Sphere
Once the Pal is damaged, you can press "Q" on your keyboard to throw a Pal Sphere at it.
Be sure to aim directly at the Pal when throwing the Sphere. It's easy to miss and waste a Sphere. It's also easier if you're standing as close as possible to the Pal.
After throwing the Sphere, a Capture Rate Percentage will appear that tells you how likely you are to capture the Pal. Once this percentage reaches 100%, you will have successfully captured the Pal!
Step Four: Using the Pal
To use your newly acquired Pal, press "E" on your keyboard to summon it.
If you've captured multiple Pals, you may have to cycle through pals to select the Pal you want to summon. You can cycle through Pals on PC by pressing the "1" and "3" keys.
To return the Pal to the Pal Sphere, simply press "E" again on your keyboard.
Bonus Step Five: EXP Bonuses
Capturing Pals isn't a one-and-done deal. If you want to maximize the amount of EXP your Pal receives, it's important to capture multiple Pals of the same species.
The more Pals you collect of the same species, the more Bonus EXP you'll receive.
Bonus Step Six: Command Pals
To Command a Pal, press "4" on your keyboard. A Pal Command wheel should appear.
In this wheel, you can perform important actions like feeding your Pal, commanding the Pal not to attack or to attack aggressively, and petting / emoting the pal.
